My attempt to catch up

Well.  I am finally getting around to uploading pictures from our camera and stealing some of my mom's internet for awhile to get some posted.  Seeing as how we only have 2 weeks left of summer break, I'll recap what we have done so far. Well at least what I managed to take pictures of...
We made a day trip to Waco for the funeral of Christiaan's pastor of his home church and of course had a quick visit with the fam.

Helping Nana make eggs for breakfast

My beautiful friend Deanna got married at the Arboretum and we were asked to be a part of the very small and perfect ceremony.

We went to a Ranger game with the Pruitt's, Malone's, and Perrin's.  I didn't get many pics because I was hot and cramped and Carter kept going back and forth to different seats

With cousins Chloe and Thomas at the Webb reunion

Uncle Bubba

Nannie

After the reunion we spent several days at Nana's house in Waco. That's Play-doh, not poop, that he is playing with....

Some sort of meticulous set up involving Hot Wheels and pennies

Jazzy love

We went to the Cameron Park Zoo

Edna and her babies. And big baby bump! Poor thing still had to go through the whole summer!

One of his favorites, the giraffes

We also went to Chuck E. Cheese's with Nana and the kids.  Carter had never been but knew what it was from commercials, and he had a blast!

He wouldn't stand up on the stage with Chuck E. so this chair was as close as he would get!

We attended the big gender reveal party for the Perrin's, where we found out they are having a girl!!

Four preggos from church! There is one more that was not there that is due in September, but (in order) Chassidy is due in October, Chelsea is due in November, Kate is due in December, and I'm due in January! They haven't quite figured out what they will do with all those babies at church yet...

AB shared her snazzy silver sandals with Carter

Blackmail. Plain and simple.

We spent a couple of days with Brooke and the boys. We were thrilled to see that Brannan actually allowed Carter to get near him and his possessions, and didn't totally hate him the whole time! Lol.  Some day they will be inseparable....

And also met our "neighborhood" friends and kiddos at their local water park.  Preslie, Bentley, Carter, Jack, and Brannan. So much fun!! I'm not sure how we managed to get them all to hold hands and pose, but I can assure you that it involved 4 moms and a lot of idiocy and monkey dancing behind the cameras.

I just realized that July up to now uploaded like 75 pics from the camera, so I will be back with a part 2....

A boy and his dog

When I was pregnant with Carter, I was a bit worried about how Libby would react to having a baby get most of the attention that she previously had received. Thankfully she is smart enough to realize that she needed to look after him, and she usually is not too far from him. She's even quite tolerant of his wrestling and leg or tail pulling, which she would have torn me apart for doing. Since Carter takes most of his naps on his pallet in the den, Libby seizes every opportunity to get some snuggle time.
(side note-these pictures should also be a good indication to you of the one-man tornado that we have on our hands...)

Playing around...

And passed out 5 minutes later!

I blame Eve

As in the first woman in the bible. The one that listened to that blasted snake and ate the forbidden fruit. Seriously girl, why would you take advice from a snake?? They have no feet, no legs, stick their tongue out at you, and this particular one spoke. I imagine my response to a talking snake would be somewhere in the neighborhood of a complete mental breakdown, in which said snake would probably seize the opportunity to strangle me to death.

Fortunately, the snakeS (yes, plural) that I encountered did not speak to me. They were too busy being entangled in on another in a scene I would describe as disturbing to say the least, to even notice my presence. Seeing dogs do the nasty is one thing, but snakes?? Oh geez, I could have done without that for sure.

Upon encountering these horrific creatures, which at first appeared about the size of a boa constrictor due to their, ahem, getting busy, naturally I screamed and began hyperventilating, turned my back and froze. Carter didn't see them or maybe doesn't yet understand just how terrifying snakes are, but was hysterical himself because he thought I was crying because I saw a grasshopper, which is the only bug he is scared of. After a few moments of deep breathing, I composed myself enough to snap a picture only to prove how freaking big they were, and one made its way under the lawn mower while I did that. We then ran around the side of the barn to my car, where I sobbed my way to my mom's house and gave her a heart attack when I ran in the door so upset.

Am I crazy for being so terrified of snakes?? I don't think so. Probably my first question to God when I reach heaven will be really God?? Snakes?? Seriously the most useless living creature on the planet. You will never convince me otherwise. A good cat will kill as many rodents, so to Craigslist I go in search of a couple of free outdoor cats.

Because we can't get the internets in the boonies...

I'm tired of being a bad blogger, so until I get around to lugging my laptop to mom's to borrow her Internet for awhile, I'm unloading the last month-ish of pictures from my phone.

Napping with Libby

Wearing my dress??

Being goofy with Brycen

Forgetting that shirts go on heads, not bobos

Ready for a swim party, complete with stealing Daddy's glasses

First dollar dog!

Rangers game with good friends

We babysat baby Rigg one night and Carter was so sweet with him!

Practicing golf while watching some golf thing on TV

He truly falls asleep in some really weird ways...this one with his hand in my shoe

"shimming" early one morning in his pool

Helping grandma with rehab

Has taken to sleeping with this monkey, which Christiaan gave me for him when I was just a few months pregnant. Too sweet

First trip (of many im sure!)to Chuck E Cheese

Daddy's shirt on his head

His shorts on his head. Do you see a pattern here??

And last but not least....

Baby Romero!!! Due to arrive sometime around the end of this year. Although C and I are so excited for this new adventure, carter is slightly less than thrilled...when you ask him if he wants a brother or sister, or a baby in general, you get a very stern response of "nope!!" He'll come around, right??
