Delaney's First Birthday

We decided to have Delaney's party at our house on the day before her actual birthday. I didn't expect too many people to make it, being so close to Christmas, but many of our close friends and family made it! Nana, Jason, Julius, and Jasmin even made it from Waco. Crappy thing was, the poor birthday girl had been feeling snotty and puny in the days before, and woke up with a pretty good fever the morning of the party. We kept her rested and used oils and Tylenol to keep her semi-comfortable.  She wasn't in the best of moods still, and cake eating didn't go too well, mostly because she grabbed the candle right after it was blown out.  But I will still call it a success, and mommy didn't end up with a migraine during the party, so that is a plus! And I ended up taking her to CareNow first thing the next morning when the fever was even higher, and lo and behold the poor thing had her first ear infection diagnosis, on her first birthday no less!

I went fairly simple with the decor, and took advantage of Etsy stores to print out the banner and cupcake toppers.

Nowhere close to walking at this point!

Trying her best to care about opening presents

Jackson wasn't impressed!

New chair from Nana! I had her dress made from an Etsy seller.

You can tell how rotten she felt

Sweet brother was so excited for her party!

Attempt #2 at cake. And I can't make it not sideways.

This was one of my favorite shirts of Carter's!

He went crazy over the balloons!
