Part Two

Day three, Tuesday

One of the things that Christiaan and I had decided we wanted to do while in Galveston was to take Carter to Moody Gardens. After doing some research on the different attractions they offer, I decided that we really only needed to visit the Aquarium Pyramid. Mostly because they had penguins, and that is what Carter kept telling me he wanted to see at the aquarium.  So that morning we all(except Jason, Edna, and Jaden) loaded up and headed into town for Moody Gardens. That was a really cool place! Delaney watched the sea lions for the longest time, Carter of course loved the penguins, and really got into petting the creatures in the touch tank. He was a little grouchy while we were there, probably needed a good nap and was a bit overwhelmed by all the people, but enjoyed it overall. By the time we got to the end of it, we were starving. Christiaan, Mom, and I decided to pass on staying with everyone else to enjoy the rest of the park, and to look for somewhere to get some good seafood. Yelp gave us the name of a place to try, Shrimp N' Stuff. It did not disappoint! We were excited that they had boudin balls for us to finally get to try....delish!

After lunch we went back to the beach house where we learned that Jaden had just fallen off of the bed, which eventually ended up in a black eye. Edna felt horrible! Christiaan decided to take Carter fishing for a little bit until everyone got back. Carter was so excited to catch his first fish! When everyone got back from town, Christiaan got busy cooking steaks for Brandon's birthday dinner. My man cooks a mean steak.

Day four, Wednesday

The guys got up before dawn to go out fishing. It was too windy to take the boat out, so they ended up going to Seawolf Park. All the girls decided it was shopping day! We headed to town, Mom and I stopped at Murdoch's before meeting up with everyone else at the Strand. After a few stores, Candice and Edna decided to walk down to eat at Fuddruckers, and we continued to shop. When the guys got done fishing they walked over and met us at the Strand. I have actually never gotten to stop and shop there so I enjoyed checking out all the cool stores. We got ice cream and smoothies at an old fashioned ice cream place called LaKing's Confectionary. It reminded me so much of Beth Marie's in Denton.

When we had all the shopping we could take (and our parking meters were about to run out!) we went back to the house. Debra, Mom, and I took the kids to the beach for a little bit before dinner. We had burgers and I made cupcakes for my mom's birthday.

Hard to see because it was still dark, but this is Carter asleep on the floor, next to their air mattress. He rolled off every night.

Every morning was cousin bounce time on Mom and Carter's bed

Murdoch's. Mom was holding both kids up. Haha

Jazz and Kristi

High fiving the "door mouse" as he called it

We found a yet to be refurbished building with the water line from Ike still marked.

Wow, that was high!

Juju gave Carter some goggles, and this is how he thinks you are supposed to use them....

Handing me "cotton balls." I guess he thinks chunks of wet sand feel like cotton balls??

Mom is so clever!

Happy birthday GranPam!
